Tiger's Multicultural Mela 2010

NPT Tigers with association with New Sandfields Aberavon held Neath Port Talbot's first ever Multicultural Mela on the Sunday 11th July 2010 at Aberavon Seafront.

The event was open to the whole public and it was a fun day out for the whole family with approximately over 2000 people attended through out the day. The purpose of this event is to bring the different cultures of Neath Port Talbot together under one roof.

Event held live music & performances such as Bollywood dance, African drumming, Punjabi Bhangra singing and drumming including local artists and performer’s performing on stage. Also had fashion show on stage for entertainment. The event also had some great cultural food stalls with henna painting showing articulate cultural designing.

Entertaining workshops was also held such as Chinese crafts, Salsa & Samba and Capoeira Workshop and will also feature Welsh Male Voice Choir. The Tigers were enthused to bring many cultural craft stalls to the scene and had the kid’s activities where there was bouncy castle, magic stall, balloon stall fun fair to keep them having fun.

The Tigers worked with many voluntary and statutory organisition to form a working group, which helped to organise this unique event.
